NTPC invites bids for 22 MW Kayamkulam Floating Solar PV Project

NTPC Limited has invited bids for development of 22 MW Kayamkulam Floating Solar PV Project. The scope of work involves design,  engineering,  manufacturing,  supply,  packing  and  forwarding,  transportation, unloading,  storage,  installation  and  commissioning  of  grid  connected  project at Rajiv Gandhi Combined Cycle Power Plant in Kayamkulam in Kerala along with  comprehensive  operation  and maintenance  (O&M) of  the  plant  and  transmission system for a period of three years from the date of successful completion of trial run. NTPC will finance the project through its internal resources. The last date for bid submission is August 21, 2018.

NTPC had installed a 100 kW floating solar power plant at Kayamkulam in March 2017. The system was installed by Swelect Energy Systems Limited with support from NETRA & NTPC Kayamkulam station. The floating platforms has been indigenously developed by NTPC Energy Technology Research Alliance (NETRA), the R&D arm of NTPC, in collaboration with Central Institute of Plastic Engineering & Technology (CIPET), Chennai and a patent has been applied for.
