SPDA urges MNRE to defer auctions for solar power projects

The Solar Power Developers Association has urged the MNRE to defer the scheduled auctions for solar power projects owing to transmission issues. The developers are concerned as the final rules relating to the grant of connectivity to the ISTS as well as the regulations for general network access (GNA) for renewable energy projects have not yet been announced, causing uncertainty over grid connectivity for the projects. The association has also asked the MNRE to direct NTPC Limited and SECI to extend the bid submission deadlines for all the tenders for ISTS-connected solar power projects until the procedures for the grant of ISTS connectivity and GNA regulations are finalised by the Central Electricity Regulatory Commission.
