Karnataka HC issues interim stay on KREC’s order for revising wheeling charges for renewable power projects

The Karnataka High Court has issued an interim stay on the Karnataka Electricity Regulatory Commission’s order to revise wheeling and banking charges for renewable power projects. The stay order has been issued in response to the writ petitions filed by renewable energy developers. The developers believe that the retrospective clause could completely upset their financials, since they had won the projects quoting tariffs which presumed that the transmission and wheeling charges would remain as pre-decided.
