Fortum and Hevel Solar emerge as winners in Russia’s solar auction

Hevel Solar, a Russian solar module manufacturer and Fortum, a Finnish power utility have won a total of 150 MW of solar PV capacity auctioned by JSC ATS, Russia’s trading system administrator. Hevel Solar will build a 23.5 MW solar project in the Republic of Kalmykia, and two projects with a capacity of 5 MW and 10 MW each in the Altai Republic. Fortum will develop an 18 MW project in the Astrakhan region, a 17 MW project in the Republic of Bashkortostan, and five 15 MW solar parks across the regions of Kalmykia, Saratov, Orenburg and Bashkortostan.
