US social networking major Facebook has signed a 15-year PPA in Norway for the output of the 294 MW Bjerkreim cluster of wind farms. Facebook will buy 1,000 GWh of electricity each year from the three wind farms near Stavanger to power its Nordic data centres. Meanwhile, Facebook has also awarded long-term supply and service agreements to Swedish state-owned utility Vattenfall AB tied to that cluster.
