European companies call for termination of solar PV anti-dumping and anti-subsidy measures

In a letter to European Commission president Jean-Claude Juncker, more than 250 companies from European Union (EU) member states have called for the termination of anti-dumping and anti-subsidy measures applied to PV manufacturers in China, Taiwan and Malaysia immediately or at least before September 3, when they are due to expire. According to the firms, these measures are at odds with the objectives of the commission. The termination of trade restrictions would lead to an increase in the number of clean energy jobs by 50 per cent and an increase in the demand for household solar energy by 30 per cent.
