The irrigation and water resource department of Uttar Pradesh has invited expressions of interest (EoIs) for developing 100 MW of solar power plants on canal tops in the state. The scope of work involves installation, commissioning, grid synchronisation and O&M of the solar power plants on a public-private partnership (PPP)basis. The project is estimated to cost Rs 5.03 billion. The contract shall be given for a period of 25 years for right to use at the following places: Narainpur Pump Canal, Mirzapur district (50 MW); Augasi Pump Canal, Banda district (30 MW); and LGC and PLGC, Bulandshahar district (20 MW). The project will be developed with the support of the Uttar Pradesh Solar Power Policy, 2017, which targets the installation of 10,700 MW of grid-connected solar power projects by 2022.
