SECI’s 2,000 MW ISTS-connected solar tender oversubscribed by 1.8 GW

A total of 10 companies have submitted their technical bids for the tender issued by Solar Energy Corporation of India Limited (SECI) for developing 2,000 MW capacity of ISTS-connected solar power projects in the country. Bids for the same had been invited in January 2018.

ACME Solar Holdings Private Limited, Azure Power India Private Limited and SBG Cleantech (Softbank) bid for 600 MW capacity each and Adani Green Energy Limited bid for 500 MW of capacity. EDEN Renewable, Fortum, Hero Future Energy Limited, Mahindra Susten Limited, ReNew Power Ventures Private Limited, and Shapoorji Pallnji Group, each submitted bids to develop 250 MW of solar capacity.

The ISTS-connected solar power projects will be implemented in eight packages of 250 MW capacity each on BOO basis. SECI will sign a power purchase agreement (PPA) with the successful bidders for a period of 25 years.
