NTPC limited has invited bids for an aggregate of 36 MW of solar PV capacity in Telangana and Gujarat. Of the total capacity, a 15 MW project will be developed in Ramagundam, Telangana and a 21 MW projected will be developed in Gandhar, Gujarat. Both the projects will be developed under the open category (non-domestic content requirement [DCR] category).
The scope of work for the projects involves design, engineering, manufacturing, supply, packing and forwarding, transportation, unloading, storage, installation and commissioning of grid connected solar PV plants on turnkey basis. It also includes comprehensive operation and maintenance (O&M) of the plants for a period of three years from the date of successful completion of trial run.
Reportedly, NTPC will fund the projects from its own resources. While the bid submission deadline for the Ramagundam project is July 30, 2018, the last date of bid submission for the Gandhar project is July 26, 2018.
According to Mercom India, NTPC has about 870 MW of solar power projects in operation and around 750 MW of projects are in pre-construction stage.
