EoI invited for development of 100 MW Solar Plants on Canal Top in Uttar Pradesh

The Irrigation and Water Resource Department, Uttar Pradesh has invited Expressions of Interest (EoI) for developing 100 MW solar power plants on canal tops in the state. The scope of work involves installation, commissioning, grid synchronisation, operation and maintenance (O&M) of the solar power plants on public-private partnership (PPP) model. The estimated cost of the project is Rs 5.03 billion.

The contract shall be given for a period of 25 years for right to use at the following places:

  • Narainpur Pump Canal, Mirzapur district – 50 MW capacity
  • Augasi Pump Canal, Banda district – 30 MW capacity
  • LGC and PLGC, Bulandsahar district – 20 MW capacity

The project with the support of Uttar Pradesh Solar Power Policy, 2017 which targets implementation of 10,700 MW of grid-connected solar power projects by 2022. Of the total capacity, 4,300 MW will be achieved through deployment of grid connected rooftop projects, and 6,400 MW through ground mounted utility scale power projects.
