Rooftop solar power project developers seek project extensions

In an effort to not lose the subsidies provided to rooftop solar power developers, the Distributed Solar Power Association (DiSPA) has written to the Ministry of Power to extend the project completion timelines by six months. These projects had been awarded by the SECI.

DiSPA has stated that the installers have been struggling with issues such as – non-feasibility of identified rooftops for project construction, loss of man hours in identifying new roofs, delays in securing government approvals, slow down of appraisal process from banks, delay in SECI’s online project sanctions, etc, which have delayed the execution of the PPAs with the government organisations.
