Three companies win bids for 750 MW capacity at Ananthapuramu Ultra Mega Solar Park

A total of three companies have won the bids for implementation of 750 MW Ananthapuramu Solar Photovoltaic Power Project (Phase II). These are Sprng Energy, Ayana Renewable Power and SB Energy.

Sprng Energy and Ayana won the bids to develop 250 MW capacities each at tariffs of Rs 2.72 and Rs 2.73 respectively. SB Energy had submitted its bids to develop 750 MW capacity, however, it has won the bids to develop 250 MW capacity.

Bids for the same were invited by NTPC Limited in March 2018. The project would be developed on build, own and operate (BOO) basis under the Ananthapuramu Solar Ultra Mega Power Project (UMPP).

The UMPP, spread over an area of 7,924.76 acres, has a total installed capacity of 1,000 MW which will be implemented in two phases- Phase I- 250 MW and Phase II- 750 MW in Nambulapulakunta mandal, Ananthapur district of Andhra Pradesh. The Phase-I of the project was commissioned on August 10, 2016.
