NTPC rolls out 2 GW of wind capacity

NTPC Limited has released a global EPC tender for the development of 2 GW of ISTS-connected wind power projects across India. The minimum capacity that can be bid by a single developer is 50 MW and the maximum is 500 MW. Limited liability partnership companies are not eligible to participate in the tender. As per the tender guidelines, the projects must be commissioned within 18 months from the date of signing of the PPAs after which a penalty will be levied. For delay up to six months, NTPC will encash the performance bank guarantees on a per day basis, which will be proportionate to the capacity not commissioned. For a six-month delay, the encashment will be 100 per cent. In case of delay in commissioning beyond six months, the tariff will be reduced at the rate of Re 0.50 per kWh per day. NTPC Vidyut Vyapar Nigam Limited will enter into 25-year PPAs with the successful bidders.
