MNRE amends CFA guidelines for utilities developing solar park evacuation infrastructure

The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) has amended the payment guidelines for the central financial assistance (CFA) made by the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI). These payments are made to the state and central transmission utilities for the development of power evacuation infrastructure for solar parks. Earlier, the payment was made in two parts wherein 50 per cent of the CFA was paid by SECI after the award of the contract and the remaining 50 per cent was paid after the completion of the work. As per the amended guidelines, the payment will be split into three instalments. SECI will pay 50 per cent of the CFA after the award of the contract, 20 per cent of the amount on the receipt of material at the project site and inspection by SECI officials, and the remaining 30 per cent upon the successful completion of work.
