Chilean power provider Colbún has acquired the 150 MW Sol de Tarapacá solar project, which is located in Tarapacá. The project was acquired from US-based thin-film photovoltaic (PV) module producer First Solar. According to the company, the acquisition is a part of its plan to increase the amount of renewable energy from a variable source in its generation mix. Neither the transaction amount nor the technical project details have been disclosed.
