Canadian Solar, Inc. has acquired a 97.6 MW PV project in Cafayate, Salta province, Argentina. The project was owned by Isolux Ingeniería, a unit of the Spanish industrial group Isolux Corsan, which filed for insolvency in Spain in July 2017. Isolux Corsan had secured a 20-year PPA for the project with local energy market operator Cammesa at a price of $56.28 per MWh. Project construction is scheduled to start in July 2018, with grid connection planned for the second quarter of 2019.
