Brookfield Asset Management and GLP to develop 300 MW rooftop solar capacity in China

Brookfield Asset Management, a Canada-based alternative asset manager that operates renewable energy portfolios globally, and GLP, a China-based industrial logistics specialist, have set up a 50:50 joint venture to develop 300 MW of commercial and industrial rooftop solar in China over the next three years. Currently, GLP has 33 million square metres of logistics space in China, and Brookfield has global experience as owner and operator of renewable energy projects. In Japan, GLP holds a leading position in the rooftop solar space, and the company is set to ramp up its presence in Europe, Brazil and the US in the coming years. For Brookfield, the venture represents a foray into China’s rooftop solar market.
