Karnataka high court puts a stay on KREDL’s 860 MW solar auction

The Karnataka High Court has put a stay on the 860 MW solar PV project tender auctioned by Karnataka Renewable Energy Development Limited (KREDL). The high court’s order follows a petition filed by Grasim Industries Limited. The petition states that a technical glitch in the tendering portal prevented the company from uploading the Rs 1 million initial deposit, rendering it unable to participate. No time frame has been given for the resolution of the case and the high court has ordered KREDL to halt the tender’s closure until the completion of legal proceedings. Of the 860 MW capacity, KREDL has already auctioned 760 MW in February 2018.
