Singapore-based renewable energy IPP Equis Energy has achieved financial closure for its 127 MW Tailem Bend solar PV project in southern Australia. The company plans to commission the project in the first quarter of 2019. The project will be developed at an estimated cost of $200 million. Equis Energy has entered into a 22-year PPA with Snowy Hydro Limited for the sale of 100 per cent of the generated power. In addition, Equis Energy will start construction of its 111 MW Tailem Bend II solar project. Both the solar projects are expected to cater to the power requirements of 82,600 Australian households by supplying about 413,000 MWh per year combined annually and will cut down carbon dioxide emissions by 200,000 tonnes per year.
