Enel commissions its solar power plant in Brazil

Enel Green Power Brasil Participações, the Brazilian subsidiary of the Italian renewable energy developer Enel Green Power, has started commercial operations at the 103 MW Horizonte solar park, which is located at Tabocas do Brejo Velho in northeast Brazil. The solar park comprises about 330,000 solar panels and is expected to generate more than 220 GWh of energy per year. The company has signed a 20-year PPA with the Brazilian Chamber of Commercialization of Electric Energy and has reportedly invested approximately $110 million in the project. The financing was done through the Enel Group’s own resources and a long-term loan was provided by Banco do Nordeste.
