The Assam Energy Development Agency (AEDA) will provide a central financial assistance of 70 per cent for developing 14 MW of grid-connected rooftop solar PV projects across the state. To this end, AEDA has invited applications from residential, institutional (non-government) and social sector institutes, registered under the Societies Registration Act, 1860 or Indian Trust Act, 1882. The projects can be set up under the capex or the renewable energy service company (RESCO) model. Under the capex model, a subsidy of Rs 42,203 per kW will be provided to projects with capacities ranging from 1 kW to 10 kW, Rs 39,186 per kW for projects with capacities ranging from 19 kW to 100 kW and Rs 36,176 per kW for projects with capacities ranging from 100 kW to 500 kW. For projects developed under the RESCO model, AEDA has fixed a tariff of Rs 3.43 per kWh for a period of 25 years.
