NTPC to tender 20 GW of solar capacity in coming years

NTPC Limited has announced its plans to roll out tenders for 20 GW of grid-connected solar power projects over the coming years. The MNRE has given its approval for the same. This announcement was made at the International Solar Alliance’s ninth monthly Get Together and Stakeholders Meet on January 24, 2018 in New Delhi. Reportedly, NTPC is in talks with the state governments to identify land and possible power offtakers. In addition, NTPC is expected to issue a 250 MW solar tender for the New Delhi Municipal Council and a 750 MW solar tender for a solar project in Anantapuram village, Andhra Pradesh.
