Construction starts on India’s first utility-scale ESS

AES India and the Mitsubishi Corporation have started the construction of the country’s first utility-scale energy storage system in Delhi. The system is rated at 10 MW and will be connected to Tata Power Delhi Distribution Limited’s (TPDDL) grid network in Rohini area. The project is expected to serve over 7 million customers of TPDDL by improving peak load management, adding system flexibility and enhancing grid reliability.
