Wirsol Energy has acquired development rights for two solar farms with a combined capacity of 16 MW in the UK. The projects are the 7 MW Outwood Solar Farm in Essex and the 9 MW Trowse-Newton Solar Farm in Norfolk. The construction of these solar farms will start in January and financing will be provided through a debt held within the company. The solar plant design will have a provision for the retrofitting of energy storage systems. The projects will be developed without any government subsidy and Wirsol is at the final stages of securing long-term PPAs.
