EU approves Greek auction scheme for renewable energy

The European Commission has approved an auction scheme proposed by Greece for renewable energy generation to facilitate the country’s efforts towards meeting its 2020 climate targets. Under the scheme, the country will organise auctions for wind and solar projects to increase competition in the renewable energy industry and to lower costs for consumers.
