China to build world’s largest floating solar power plant

China’s Three Gorges Corporation is building a 150 MW floating solar power plant in Anhui, an eastern province of China. The project, expected to cost £113 million, is set up on a lake that formed after the collapse of a coal mine in the region. The entire facility is expected to come online by May 2018. It will be the world’s largest floating solar power project.
