France-based renewable power producer Akuo Energy and Indonesian utility PLN have signed a letter of intent to develop a 50 MW solar power project in Bali, Indonesia. The solar power plant will be installed in the northwest portion of the island and will be built on more than 55 hectares of agricultural wasteland set aside by the Bali government. Project construction is expected to start in the second half of 2018 and project commissioning is scheduled for 2019.
