SECI tenders 950 MW of grid connected solar capacity

The Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) has released two global engineering, procurement and commissioning (EPC) tenders for 950 MW of grid-connected solar capacity in the states of Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh. Of this, 200 MW will be developed at the Pavagada Solar Park in Tumkur, Karnataka, under the National Solar Mission (NSM) Phase II Batch IV Tranche XIV. A single bidder is eligible to bid for a minimum of 50 MW and a maximum of 200 MW capacity. The bid submission deadline is February 20, 2018. The remaining 750 MW of capacity will be developed at the Kadapa Solar Park in Andhra Pradesh under NSM Phase II Batch IV Tranche XV. Under this, a single bidder is eligible to bid for a minimum of 250 MW and a maximum of 750 MW capacity. The last date for bid submission is February 23, 2018. SECI has fixed Rs 2.93 per kWh as the upper tariff ceiling for both the tenders. The projects will be developed on a build-own-operate (BOO) basis and SECI will enter into a 25-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with the bidders. The PPA is expected to be signed within one month from the date of issue of letter of intent.
