Tesla has recently connected a 100 MW/129 MWh battery in South Australia to the grid. As South Australia has been crippled by electricity problems in recent times, the battery, in addition to helping with grid stabilisation, will allow the Hornsdale wind power reserve to sign direct contracts with medium-sized businesses. The battery can store energy to power about 30,000 homes for an hour.
