The MoP has issued the final competitive bidding guidelines for wind power projects. These guidelines will provide a framework for the transparent and cost-effective procurement of wind power. These are applicable to all wind projects. For interstate projects, the minimum total bidding capacity in a state is 25 MW with at least 5 MW at a single location. For intra-state projects, the minimum bidding capacity is set at 50 MW with at least 10 MW at a single location. The new rules come nearly eight months after the MNRE first issued its draft guidelines for wind power projects in April 2017.
