The Maharashtra State Power Generation Company (MAHAGENCO) has invited EoI for the development of up to 50 MW of pilot solar power projects. The plants can be developed at a single or multiple locations in Vidarbha, Marathwada, and the western and northern regions of Maharashtra and will reduce the state’s agricultural load during the daytime. The EoI is open to developers and landowners who either possess land or can arrange it within 2 km of the 33/11 kV or 132/33 kV substations connected to agricultural feeders. Further, power evacuation infrastructure from the solar power projects to the nearest substation will be provided by Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited. The EoI includes the submission of a pre-feasibility report with the bid on or before December 30, 2017.
