First Solar has reported record bookings of 4.5 GW in the quarter ended September 2017, taking the company’s order book to 7.4 GW, for shipments out to 2020. This has been a result of high demand in China and urgency in the US to secure supply owing to the spectre of the Section 201 case. The company’s net sales for the quarter ended September 2017 stood at $1.087 billion, 60 per cent higher than the net sales in the corresponding period in 2016.
