Shanghai Electric and ACWA Power to build a 700 MW CSP plant in Dubai

A consortium of China-based Shanghai Electric and Saudi Arabia-based ACWA Power has won an order from the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority to build a 700 MW concentrating solar power plant. The power generated will be sold at $0.73 per kWh. The Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum solar project, is the largest single-site solar park in the world based on the independent power producer model. It will be commissioned in stages, starting from the fourth quarter of 2020, at an estimated cost of $3.8 billion.
