PanaHome to install solar microgrid systems in smart city Shioashiya in Japan

PanaHome, a unit of Panasonic, will install solar microgrid systems for 117 homes in smart city Shioashiya in Ashiya, Hyogo, Japan. The project will be deployed in cooperation with the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry. Panasonic will be supplying solar modules, storage batteries and control systems for the photovoltaic (PV) microgrid. Each home will be equipped with a 4.6 kW solar array and 11.2 kWh of battery storage. The dwellings will also feature home energy management. PanaHome aims to start operating the microgrid from October 2018.
