New York state government receives 13 GW of renewable projects proposals under two tenders

The state government of New York has received proposals for 200 large-scale renewable energy projects with a combined capacity of over 13 GW under the two recently launched biddings. The bids were launched following two requests for proposal (RfPs) aimed at helping the state meet its goal of sourcing 50 per cent of its electricity from renewables by 2030. As many as 88 projects totalling over 4 GW were presented by 30 developers in a procurement round administered by the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority. In addition, 51 companies submitted more than 130 renewable energy projects surpassing 9 GW in an RfP by the New York Power Authority.
