IWEA moves to Madras high court against 500 MW project auction in Tamil Nadu

The Indian Wind Energy Association (IWEA) has filed a petition in the Madras High Court against the Tamil Nadu Electricity Regulatory Commission’s order allowing TANGEDCO to conduct a 500 MW wind power project auction in which the base price is set at Rs 3.46 per unit. According to IWEA, the benchmark price should be set in line with the previous tariff order under which the wind power tariff was set at Rs 4.16 per kWh until April 1, 2018. The association has argued that a fresh tariff order can only be passed after the  ongoing tariff order expires.
