WBSEDCL issues solar tender for rural electrification

West Bengal State Electricity Distribution Company Limited has issued a tender to develop turnkey solar projects to electrify 76 villages in the state under the Deendayal Upadhyaya Gram Jyoti Yojana. The estimated project cost is Rs 1.14 billion and the scope of work includes supply, installation and commissioning of solar projects, and provision of transmission. According to the terms of the tender, a project developer will need to provide household connections in below poverty line (BPL) and above poverty line households along with maintenance services for BPL household connections for a five-year period. The projects will be developed in Coochbehar, Murshidabad, Bankura, Purulia, Burdwan, North 24-Parganas, Purba Medinipur, Nadia and Malda districts of West Bengal.
