Jharkhand renegotiates solar tariffs

The Jharkhand Renewable Energy Development Agency has received renegotiated solar tariffs of Rs 4.99 per unit by developers for projects tendered under the state’s 1,200 MW mega auction held in 2016. Initially, the winning bids ranged from Rs 5.08 to Rs 7.95 per unit. The state discoms are likely to sign PPAs at the renegotiated reduced tariff. Jharkhand is the second state after Uttar Pradesh to renegotiate solar tariffs under the auction route.
