World Bank approves $150 million for Kenya

The World Bank has approved an International Development Association credit equivalent to $150 million for the delivery of modern energy services via off-grid solar in Kenya. The Off-grid Solar Access Project for Underserved Counties is expected to provide modern, off-grid solar electricity services to an estimated 1.3 million people in 277,000 households across 14 counties. The project will use a combination of investments to provide modern energy services to households, businesses and community facilities.
