Tenaga Nasional Berhad secures $79 million financing for 50 MW Solar Project

Malaysia-based utility Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB), through its subsidiary TNB Sepang Solar Sdn. Bhd., has raised $79 million from Affin Islamic Bank Bhd for a 50 MW large-scale solar power plant in Selangor, Malaysia. The project that will be spread across 97 hectares has achieved financial closure and is expected to begin operations in November 2018. TNB is also the off-taker for the project and signed a 21-year PPA for the same in March 2017.
