The Tamil Nadu Energy Development Agency has issued a tender for a 500 MW solar park to be developed in Tamil Nadu in line with expression of interest that they had floated in March 2017. The scope of work includes land acquisition of 2,000 acres and the allocation of plots for individual projects. The agency requires the winning bidder to develop an internal transmission system, maintain it and connect it to the grid. The developer will also be responsible for providing water supply and basic drainage facilities. The operations and maintenance period for the solar park is 25 years. The time period to complete the construction of the pooling substation, land development and other facilities is 15 months; while that for internal transmission network deployment and grid connectivity is 18 months. The last date for bid submission is August 11, 2017.
