MNRE has amended guidelines for implementation of 5,000 MW VGF programme

The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) has amended the guidelines for the 5,000 MW viability gap funding programme under the National Solar Mission Phase-II Batch-IV. According to the amended guidelines, the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) will collaborate with power buying entities or states for tendering the entire capacity before the issue of request for selection. While earlier, this was based on specified state-wise commitments for the off-take of 90 per cent of capacity to be tendered by SECI. According to the new guidelines, the host state will be given priority over other states for selling the power.
