Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL), a JV of the Ministry of Power and the Government of India, has tendered 300 MW of solar projects. The electricity generated will be utilised to power 20,000 agricultural pump sets in Uttar Pradesh and Andhra Pradesh. Each pump set will be allocated 15 kW of solar capacity. EESL can award the total order quantity to a single successful bidder or split it amongst multiple bidders with a minimum capacity of not less than 30 MW. The last date for bid submission is June 29, 2017. EESL has also signed MoUs with the Andhra Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh governments for the establishment of grid-connected solar PV-based minigrids for agricultural pump sets in these states.
