Mumbai Metro develops 2.3 MW rooftop solar projects

Mumbai Metro One Private Limited (MMOPL) has installed 2.3 MW of rooftop solar capacity at the Andheri and Ghatkopar metro stations. The solar systems have been set up on the RESCO model under MMOPL’s “Go Green Go Clean” campaign. As per the PPA, the developer will set up and operate the project for 25 years on a fixed tariff of Rs 5.10 per kWh. MMOPL has also decided to replace the existing lights at its metro stations, depot and administrative buildings with energy efficient LED lighting in order to reduce electricity consumption.
