Turkey’s 1 GW Konya solar PV tender concludes at $0.0699 per kWh

South Korea-based solar photovoltaic (PV) manufacturer Hanwha Q Cells and Turkey-based Kalyon Enerji have won a 1 GW tender at Konya, Turkey. Under the tender, the companies will sell the generated electricity at a feed-in tariff of $0.0699 per kWh. The ceiling price of the project tendered under the reverse auction was set at $0.08 per kWh. It is expected to have a 15-year purchase guarantee without any currency risk. A 500 MW domestic factory also needs to be set up within 21 months of the signing of the tender while the solar projects are likely to be operational within 36 months.
