Lebanon to issue RfP for 180 MW of solar by mid-April

Lebanon’s Center for Energy Conservation (LCEC) has stated that it will issue a request for proposal (RfP) for the installation of 180 MW of solar capacity by mid-April 2017. The agency has received 256 bids for solar energy projects totalling 3 GW in the pre-selection phase of the tender process. LCEC has stated that the timeframe for the evaluation of proposals will depend on the eventual date of launching the RfP, the time period that the interested bidders are given to complete their proposals (two to three months) and the administrative procedures to form an inter-ministerial committee, if one is needed. Furthermore, the agency stressed that the RfP phase will be restricted to the bidders selected in the expression of interest phase.
