AkzoNobel, AXA, Burberry and Carlsberg join group committed to 100 per cent renewable power

The world’s largest brewer, Anheuser-Busch InBev has joined the RE100 initiative with a commitment to power its global operations, which account for almost 6 tWh of electricity annually, with 100 per cent renewable sources. Led by the Climate Group in partnership with CDP, formerly the Carbon Disclosure Project, RE100 brings together the world’s most influential companies, demonstrating the highest level of leadership in renewable power. Under this initiative, AB InBev, which produces beverages including Budweiser, Beck’s and Stella Artois, has committed to purchase electricity only from renewable energy sources by 2025, accounting for approximately 90 per cent of its total electricity consumption worldwide. This will make the company the largest corporate direct purchaser of renewable electricity in the global consumer goods sector, reducing its operational carbon footprint by 30 per cent.
