Mizoram joins UDAY scheme

Mizoram has become the 27th state to join the Ujwal Discom Assurance Yojana (UDAY), which was implemented by the government to assist in the financial and operational turnaround of discoms. The Government of India and the state government of Mizoram signed an MoU on April 2, 2017, to bring about the operational turnaround. Mizoram will derive a net benefit of nearly Rs 1.98 billion through UDAY, which will in turn help provide cheaper power to 22,007 households in the state.
