Macquarie plans to acquire HPPPL’s solar assets

Infrastructure asset management fund Macquarie Infrastructure and Real Assets, managed by Australia’s Macquarie Group, is in talks with Hindustan Power Projects Private Limited (HPPPL) to acquire 320 MW of its solar power assets for about Rs 19.4 trillion. The sale of these assets will help HPPPL reduce its debt obligations and fund the development of its pipeline of renewable energy projects.

Renewable energy consultancy firm SgurrEnergy India Private Limited has won the contract to provide solar engineering services for Adani Power’s 648 MW solar project at Ramanathapuram, Tamil Nadu. SgurrEnergy is expected to deliver services such as project concept, technology evaluation, energy yield estimation, quality assurance plan, detailed engineering and other associated design services, to support the timely completion of the project.
