Azure Power commissions 137 MW solar capacity in March

Azure Power commissioned 137 MW of solar capacity in March 2017. While 130 MW of capacity is in Chitradurga, Karnataka, 7 MW of projects have been set up at defence establishments under the Ministry of Defence, Government of India. The Chitradurga project comprises one 50 MW and two 40 MW plants, and the 7 MW project consists of a 5 MW solar plant at Ambajhari and a 2 MW plant at Bhandara. Azure Power has signed 25-year long (PPAs) with the Chamundeshwari Electricity Supply Company, Hubli Electricity Supply Company and Gulbarga Electricity Supply Company to supply power generated from 130 MW of projects at a tariff of Rs 6.51 per kWh. It has also signed a 25-year long PPA with the Ministry of Defence to supply power at a blended tariff of Rs 5.36 per kWh.
